Getting A New Job! Is It Your Last Objective?

Only getting a new job should not be your last objective. Know what things you should keep in mind before starting a job, which will be useful in the future:

- Ask to the management about your work and assignments:
Before joining, you should know what is your job and what used to happen there before you. Also what company is expecting from you.

You can refuse, if:
1. your work has been changed.
2. you have not been informed much about the work.
3. it is not told what are the expectations from you?

- Ask about working hours and weekly off:
In the midst of all the important conversations, be sure to find out about your working hours, weekly offs and holidays. Apart from this, how much additional work will have to be done there.

You can refuse, if:
1. you are not clearly told about your working hours.
2. you have been told that 'here salary is given only for work'.
3. your boss tells you that he is very crazy about work.

- Find out about the company culture:
When you are going for interview and screening in the company, observe carefully how is the work environment there? Are the people working in that team are happy or not?

You can refuse, if:
1. you see the people working there are upset and irritable.
2. the people there talk to you with good humour, but try to hide the reality.

- Find out about the professional practice of the team:
This method tells a lot about the atmosphere of the team. If you are not getting direct information, then find out about how old the team is.

You can refuse, if:
1. you are going to change jobs after a long time and the prospective team is not very professional.
2. new team is working on old project.

- Understand about your future boss:
Find out how your boss is; has he ever done anything wrong, what is the general opinion about him, how is his attitude with colleagues?

You can refuse, if:
1. the boss has not properly negotiated with you on the matter of salary and notice.
2. your abilities have been questioned.

- Think for yourself, what to do next?
Every job cannot be perfect and good. The new job is giving you an opportunity to learn and grow, will you be able to last long or not? Because money is not everything.

You can refuse, if:
1. you are trying to prepare yourself for a new and better opportunity.
2. you are not happy.
3. you have suddenly started feeling your old job better.
